There are about 21,000 beef farms in Ontario.
Of these, about 18,000 are cow/calf farms and 3,000 are feedlots.
Ontario beef farmers produce about 13.5 per cent of Canada’s market-ready cattle and contribute about $4 billion annually to the Ontario economy.
Canada is the world's third largest beef exporter.
